Begraj Agarwal greater lions diabeteS Foundation

On October 2nd, 2023, in collaboration with Sanjay Mittal & Meenakshi Mittal; Begraj Agarwal Greater Lions Diabetes Foundation a 2800 sq ft set-up completely dedicated towards Diabetes management & care was inaugurated at Siliguri Greater Lions Eye Hospital, the biggest eye hospital systems in the region at the heart of the city at Sevoke Road, Siliguri. The Comprehensive Diabetes Institution is the first ever Lions Club lead Diabetes centre in North Bengal and the North East pioneered by Lions Club of Siliguri Greater and has been made possible with the unprecedented support from Sanjay Mittal & Meenakshi Mittal of Begraj Group Of Industries.

 

India is the Diabetes capital of the world with over 77 million people suffering and an equal number of undiagnosed cases. North Bengal and the adjoining State of Sikkim as a region also sees a similar trend and has a huge population especially in the Hilly & the Terai region who are affected with Diabetes most of them being undiagnosed cases given that healthcare challenges in the region of accessibility, affordability & availability. The foundation will address to this dire and urgent need”.Equipped also with a Mobile Diabetes Clinic the Diabetes foundation will look forward to make quality affordable comprehensive diabetes management & care reach everyone at their door-steps.

The Centre was inaugurated with the unveiling of the Inaugural Plaque from the auspicious hands of Nirmala Devi with Sanjay Mittal and Meenakshi Mittal in presence of Chief Guest and Past International Director of Lions Club International India Lion G. S Hora, Guest Of Honour present Lions District 322F Governor Lion Suresh Sinhal along with visiting dignitaries from Lions Club Of Siliguri Greater, Lions fraternity of North Bengal, and valued guests.

 

The comprehensive diabetes care unit is equipped with various dedicated care verticals including Dietitian, Diabetic Foot Care, Kidney Care, Heart Care, Eye & Dental Care with special focus on lifestyle change keeping minimum stress on medicinal support. The foundation is committed to create essential Diabetes awareness and preventive care to bring necessary lifestyle changes in people towards early diabetes management & care.
